Hi Carla, I'm Carla too!

I have Tricare Prime South. I had no issues getting approved. But different regions have different provisions.

Taking it one day at a time.

Hi ladies, I also have tricare south. My Dr. Is sending my paperwork in on Monday or Tues as long as I do not need any additional testing, I am just praying everything will go smoothly! For Carla #1 why so they keep denying you and what region are you in. For Carla #2, what state are u in and how long did it take for your approval to come through?

I am in Texas.

After I had my nutrition consult and my psych eval, it only took 10 days to get approval from Tricare.

Total time from 1st doctor visit to surgery was 3 months.

Taking it one day at a time.

:) That sounds great, my paperwork will be getting sent in for APPROVAL next week! The lady in charge of the finance and insurance dept at the hospital said that Tri-Care usually gets back with the approval/denial in 72 hrs or so! I am hoping this is the case for me! I am so tired of jumping through hoops and just waiting to get on the band-wagon!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
