And there is nothing better than Victories!!

Sometimes WE are our own worse enemies, and WE need to get out of the way.....die to those old ways of thinking and flesh (especially obese people) and accept to live in the new.......all else will follow.

I see it here everyday...people want to loose weight, have a new life....but they insist on holding onto the old...the things that failed them before.....and then wonder why they are not loosing weight....

shr and b52, you both hit on some excellent points. enjoyed both posts..

our life is what ((we)) decide to make it...we were blessed to be able to have a WLS to help us (in my case, save my life)...run with it....own it.....accept responsibility and do what the doctors say to make it happen...its pretty simple...either do it or you wont succeed..

WE must all follow directions from others. We might agree and strongly disagree but please Don't close the door and NOT try. See what works for you and then decide if it is good. Keep an open mind in this life committed learning process. food will be our worse enemy if we all don't learn from the process of our new journey.

Do not fall back into "old" habits in your eating. IT probably wasn't good for you in your past and it won't be good for you in the future. Tweak and modify your personal needs in your journey.

Have a great and safe weekend everybody!

Best wishes and Keep the Faith

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
