Plastic Surgeon in So. Cal

Recommended Posts

Hey all.

This isn't related to plastic surgery after banding, but I thought someone might have an idea.

My mom is looking for a surgeon in Southern California to do kind of a mini face lift, and some work around her eyes. There is someone she found in Orange County who does what she wants, but he's not a "board certified plastic surgeon" and she's a bit sceptic of that.

An info would be great, thanks!

Ok This is only my opinion in all the research I have done.

RUN!!!! Do not ever have plastic surgery by someone who is not board certified. They could be a normal Dr with no experience in plastics at all and call themselves a PS and operate. That is a scary thought. It is also her face. With that type of surgery you need to find a Dr that specialises in it. Some specialise in breasts etc but thats not good enough when it is your face and eyes. Tell her to research and research till she cant research no more :D Ask to see pics...lots and lots of them, ask to speak to patients who have had similiar surgery, do searches on them in google to check if they have been sued in the past, and MAKE SURE they are board certified.

Just my opinion :D

Tell her good luck...the eyes, lower or upper bleph can have some amazing results but can also go the other way with droopiness and too much white showing in the eyes, very important to find a surgeon who has performed hundreds of these types of procedures. Also tell her to ask the PS she sees if they specialise in scar minimisation because you dont want scars noticeable on your face.

I could go on and on but I will leave it there :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
