doggylover 46 Posted January 3, 2013 I've never seen or heard of this. I live just a couple hours from Ontario (we have the same weather) and i'm supprised that I hadn't heard anybody talk about this. I will have to check it out myself. Its -27 today here so it would be perfect to try this... 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted January 3, 2013 It is called supercooled Water. If the water is extremely pure, as in has very little to no particulate in the water, there will not be any nucleation sites in the liquid, which is required to start the freezing process. Once the bottle is shaken or disturbed, air bubbles introduced to the liquid will act as nucleation sites around which the water will begin freezing. Once it begins freezing, the ice will spread until the entire bottle is frozen. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

wildrose1966 396 Posted January 3, 2013 I grew up about 2hrs from where this was supposedly filmed and have never heard of it. It is -27C (-8F) here today and I might just put a bottle on my patio tonight - thinking it was more 'misting' or iced up on the bottle than anything. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

Shackwacky 72 Posted January 3, 2013 Not sure if that works, but last week it was -40 here (literally, the second coldest place on the planet that day) and my husband took a cup of Water outside, threw it into the air, and it froze/evaporated before coming back down. Very very very cold that week. 2 kll724 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
