Anyone Had A Bad Experience With Fillcenter Usa Clinics?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys~ I am having alot of problems trying to find a good aftercare provider here in Tampa, Florida that will do my fills for a reasonable price. I was banded by Dr.Ortiz in TJ on March 10th. I tried going to a medical center from the Fillcenterusa website near me in St.Petersburg but my experience there was awful and I refuse to go back. The nurse who was going to do my fill decided not to do it, lied about have fluoro there when they didn't and then still charged me for a fill and an office visit. I was charged $299 for NOTHING! :angry I am so upset about this and everything but right now my main concern is finding a doctor to do my fills. I have UHC and would love to use my insurance and pay a cheap co-pay but if that isn't possible I will just settle for an honest, competent doctor that won't rip me off and will give me some satiation. I am so hungry all of the time and it is painful. :help:Does anybody know of any doctors that would possibly take me so I dont' have to go back to TJ? Thanks everybody for listening to me vent

Warm regards,

Liz

Hi Liz,

Go to the website shedthepounds.com, it is a bariatric center in Largo and I called them, they do fills for patients who have had lapband done elsewhere. The first is 550.00 with floro and if they deem it safe to do fill without floro after that it is 200.00. I am 6 days post op and that is where I am going in 6 weeks. They were recommended by Ready For A change who is good information/referal site...Hope this helps and if you choose to use them let me know.... Karen

Thank you Karen. I believe I have heard of that website. Was it with Dr.Jesse? I think that is where I may end up going. It sounds like the best price-wise as well once you get past the first initial fee. Thanks again for your help...Liz

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
