I was told calcium citrate, multivit with Iron (both chewable, initially) and sublingual vit B12. I'm still new, but I believe eventually they can be swallowed.

my dr and nutritionist said Vitamins (calcium and a multi vitamin). i also take Iron pills (due to me being anemic). i guess each dr is different. ask yours to be sure.

At the class I took they told us that, maybe they were referring to the sleeve or the bypass. I have an appointment on the 15th and im excited and scared at the same time.

No meds unless your doctor tells you to do so... some are even off meds, such as cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc because of the weight loss. I know for myself I use to take a dosage of 175 gm of meds daily for my high blood pressure, now with all the weight loss I am only on a 50mg (betta blocker). I hope to be off that down the road but my PCP does not want to take me off of this until he is 100% certain before taking me off that last dosage, it is hereditary and almost every one in my family has HB pressure. But that is! I don't take anything else but a Multi-Vitamin and Vitamin D (I have been Vitamin D deficient for 3 years).

I get blood work in 2 weeks to see how the rest of my numbers are doing. Before surgery, all my numbers were excellent the doctor said, so we shall see.......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
