Follow up appt weight loss

Recommended Posts

I know everyone is different, but I'm just curious as to how much weight you lost by your follow up appointment. NOT including pre-op diet loss. And how far out was that follow up appointment :) Thanks for any input.

My appt was 1 week post op and I lost 10lbs that week........(9lbs pre op). Has been pretty slow since, but have not gained anything back. Everyone is different and alot of times weight loss is higher if you have more to lose. Good luck.

I am day 4 post op and have not lost a single pound! I am only taking in 220 calories a day. I have to lose weight at that intake eventually. It is just really upsetting to know that my post-op appt is tomorrow (day 5) and I have not lost even one pound. Plus I feel STUFFED all the time. I can not imagine eating pureed food starting on saturday. I am scared to try a sugar free popsicle! lol. All I have had is coffee and Protein Shakes and Water and am so very full.

Seems like you are not taking in enough calories for sure. You will probably get hungrier once swelling from surgery goes down. Try to get in more Protein shakes for now would be my suggesstion.

I was the exact same way...I couldn't get anything in me for the first 4 days then on day 5 the stuffed feeling reduced and my hunger returned so I was able to drink more...the fullness will go away soon...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
