I was banded November 9 and I've lost 40 pounds. I already had my first fill and I dont feel like it did anything. I am still able to eat the same amount. I am also falling off track since we have left over holiday foods. Should they be thrown away?! I also gained 3 pounds and i feel like im not helping myself. Anyone feeling the same?

I have been feeling the same way. Holiday foods got me a bit off track too, but I'm regrouping and starting this new year right. Hope things work out for you. :)

thanks I am glad i'm not the only one. How many fills did it take you to finally feel the right amount of restriction? I currently have 3.8 cc in my band and i feel the same as I did after surgery. I had 2.8 already in my band from surgery.

I have 7cc's in my 14 cc band right now. That's a total of 5 fills. I'm not sure if I've found that sweet spot just yet though. We just need to follow the rules and eventually we'll get there. Good luck! :)

Just a tip I have been using. When I make my dinner at night, I make sure I have my proper portions and less than one cup of food. I then pack up any leftovers and put them in the fridge. Stops me from reaching for seconds.

Give it away or throw it away for sure! I have found, I just can't have the stuff in the house. I live alone, so what others want isn't an issue. I too endulged over the holidays but as of 1/1 I am back on track. Did cardio yesterday for the first time in a while. A new year, a new me. Good luck!

I was banded on 11/8 and also gained 3 lbs over the holiday. Threw out all the leftovers (cookies-mydownfall) yesterday and back on track. I need to start exercising but have been sick. Hope to start on Saturday.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
