Stomach puffy under large incision?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I was banded last Friday 12/28/12. I am feeling a lot better other then the horrible gas pain in my chest uhhh. Anyways I just wanted to ask if anyone else was puffy or swollen under their incisions? My large incision looks good but under it seems pretty puffy? Not sure if this is normal or not. I am suppose to call my Dr. Tomorrow for a follow up I guess this week but it just made me nervous. I haven't had any problems eating or should I say drinking. :) when I move around ( getting out of bed, going to sit or cough) that is wear the pain is. Any suggestions or thought would be great!! Thanks & Happy New Year Bandsters!!!

To me this is normal. I was banded on 12/14 and just this week the swelling on the port incision is subsiding. O have a small bump right under the port incision and it's still a bit sore but nothing to worry about!

I have the same thing, except my lump is on top. My nurse said as long as it is not red or hot it's ok. I guess it will eventually go away. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
