Rough time before surgery

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for surgery this Friday! I have been so excited and doing very well on my pre-op diet. Today everything has started to crumble. My boyfriend broke up with me today, on New Years Eve and a few days before my surgery when he knows how important if means to me. I feel like I can't breathe! I want to go eat, I can't stop crying.... Someone please say something to help!

Omg! Please dont break and eat something! You have been doing so well and you are almost there.

Try not to cry too much over someone who could do something so mean to you at such an important time in your life girl. You can get through this!

And when he comes crawling back, like they always fo, you and your new body wont give him the time of day!

Sending you huggss.....remember the one who is worth your time will never make you cry

These are the times when you have to remind yourself to stay focused. You must ask yourself, " Do you want to be fat (sorry for not sugar coating it) no matter if your boyfriend stays or goes?" For this and this time in your life, what he does, doesn't matter. You are more important and if he left, well it's his loss! Choose yourself over him. If he left now, he most certainly wouldn't have been any support later. Just think, you probably just lost 150 - 200 lbs (or whatever he weighs) in one fell swoop. Time to move on and live for you. Take control of your life. If you eat something it won't make you feel better and it certainly won't bring him back. You CAN do this! You are a good person. Hugs to you and we're here for you.

YOU are only the one that can control feelings and emotions. Think of the band surgery and how good YOU will be for yourself in your quality of Life and hopefully better health. It's all about YOU dear. Not your BF or anyone.

Stay focused for the longer goal in your life. Approved surgery may only come once to you. You are so close please stay the course.

We are here for YOU. Please call on us. God loves YOU!

Best wishes and Keep the Faith

Samskiles,

This is so difficult and hurtful. No matter what I say it will not ease your pain and heartache. I see your beautiful face and want to grab you through the computer and give you a hug.

Know that even though something horrible has happened here, your strength will get you through. Your life is going to change, you will be a different person, a stronger person, and then a happier person ....

Sending you peace, love, and good karma for your surgery!

(((hugs)))

Sam~

Sometimes, words are not strong enough to convey the emotions we want to share. All I can say is that you will have better days ahead. Know that you are loved, and you are beautiful inside out.

No matter what, you will get through this.

It's ok to cry, let it be a cleansing cry. Then, when you are ready, wipe those tears, stand tall and be proud. You are so worth it!

As far as your boyfriend breaking up with you.....when you think about it, do you really want someone like that in your life? One who will not think twice about leaving you when you need them the most? I don't think so. You deserve more, much more!

For now, it's perfectly ok to cry, let it all out.

I'm sharing with you, one of my favorite poems. It has helped me a lot in the past, when going through rough Patches. I hope you find some comfort and solace in it. Sending you a big hug xoxoxo

~After a while...~

After a while you learn

The subtle difference between

Holding a hand and chaining a soul

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning

And company doesn't always mean security.

And you begin to learn

That kisses aren't contracts

And presents aren't promises

And you begin to accept your defeats

With your head up and your eyes ahead

With the grace of a woman

Not the grief of a child

And you learn

To build all your roads on today

Because tomorrow's ground is

Too uncertain for plans

And futures have a way

Of falling down in mid flight

After a while you learn

That even sunshine burns if you get too much

So you plant your own garden

And decorate your own soul

Instead of waiting

For someone to bring you flowers

And you learn

That you really can endure

That you are really strong

And you really do have worth

And you learn and you learn

With every good bye you learn.

(((((samskiles))))) We know this is painfull for you and we can't take that pain away, but we are here to help you through it.

Everyone is right, this is your time. The time to make you healthy and no one can do that but you. Do what is best for you right now.

You're young and taking part in a life changing surgery, it's going to be so amazing for you.

The darkest hour means dawn is just in sight. Something good is coming your way.

Months before my surgery, actually Easter morning, I was praying for

God to just let me die. I had a bad car accident and I couldn't stand the pain anymore. Months and months of treatments made no difference. I was faced with living the rest of my life in agony. Since my insurance deductible was met I decided to get LB surgery, my only hope of relieving pain. Jan 10 is 1 yr anniversary of accident and I'm so blessed to be alive. I have a life again.

I know your pain is just as real as my pain was to me, but having this surgery is going to be a blessing to you, just as it was to me. Don't let anyone or anything take that from you.

God Bless

I'm so sorry for your heartache but just think you are doing this for YOU and above all you should love yourself! You are beautiful and although it hurts today on day you will look back after your surgery and realize this was all part of Gods plan. Please stay focused and your in my prayers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
