Life is Now! 0 Posted April 11, 2006 Apologies if anyone has asked this question before! I am in the UK and have just had my first fill on Friday. I have been told to have liquids for a week, then mushy for a week then back on to the hard crunchy stuff. This is killing me!! It seems pretty strict and doing a quick search it seems that Doctors are more lenient in the US. Let me know what your rules are. Thanks Jen
Wheetsin 714 Posted April 11, 2006 I had my first fill Friday. My instructions were basically, "thick liquids tonight, then work things back into your diet as you can. Do it carefully because things probably won't be as easy now as they used to be." So far I can eat all the same foods that I've tried (still haven't tried Pasta yet), just a lot less of them. Elisabethsew 50 Posted April 11, 2006 I have not had my first fill yet but I checked the booklet that I was given pre-op. It states to have a full Fluid diet the day of the fill and then progress to a soft diet for a day or two before going back to the pre-fill diet.
Life is Now! 0 Posted April 11, 2006 Thank you - I've also spoken to a fellow bandster in the UK and her reply was "sod that"!! SO I've decided to go onto mushies tonight until Friday, then back to normal. I know you should follow your Doctors instructions but I'm worried that I'm going to put on weight on as I'm having loads of liquids to fill me up. I've lost 22 pounds in eight weeks and do not intend to put any back on!! Thanks for your help. Jen
prinnie 0 Posted April 11, 2006 After my first fill I had to have 48 hours of Clear Liquids, then back to solids. No pre-fill requirements. This is apparently going to be the drill for any fill that I have.
Marimaru 7 Posted April 11, 2006 I was just told 24 hours of liquids, then back to normal.
