Champagne on New Year's Eve?

Have not had carbonated drinks in over a year. But on New Year's Eve , I am planning on a small sip in between lots of hugs and kisses !!!!!

I recall the first year post op My dr said if I nursed a glass of champagne all night long he was fine with it.... It gave it time to go flat!!! have a great time!

I plan on having some but I'll let it go flat first. I'm not willing to risk the carbonation.
