Because in my past, potatoe chips, salas, chips n dips I couldn't stop with a hand full, I've stayed away from the lite versions as well. Nope, I won't eat any snack foods anymore stay away until my goals are reached and I'm confident I can maintain my weight and keep it tight for the future.

Anything that says generous serving makes me nervous..... Sounds like a snack food which I try to avoid.

Well, they do sell them at my lap band surgeon's office; my nutrionist recommends them; but they are $2.00 for a small bag. They are made for bariatric patients --- these are NOT regular potato chips. I am looking for the best flavor and best value if I am going to buy them :)

Here's the scoop: reflect on how you became obese...I'd wager to say that snacking and the high calorie foods with next to no nutritional value were a significant part of the journey towards obesity.

You had your WLS to loose weight; if you want to be successful with that goal, you need to avoid maintaining the poor eating behaviors which made you obese. Bandster life is about changing your relationship with food, and adopting a healthier lifestyle, which includes nutritionally sound food choices and exercise, to name a couple.

They make so many "foods" available at the grocery store which assist the individual to believe that they are making progress with lasting weight loss when in fact all they are doing is enabling the individual to maintain their poor choices with food.

You can get "sugar free" chocolate, but it still has calories. Those "protein" chips are, in my opinion, deficient in the Protein content. As others have said those chips may even lead you down a slippery slope to return to former snacking habits. Everything we choose to eat needs to deliver big on nutrition...even if they are available at your surgeon's office I would not risk going back to poor eating behaviors.

IMHO...other's mileage may vary...

I guess my point is ... One of the reasons this is working for me is because I have changed my eating habits and I fear healthy or not.... chips are a slider type food so I would be leery of slipping back to old habits....

But not everyone is a snacker so these might just be perfect for you.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
