If i were a dr...which i am not I would ask several question before I could even begin to make a call on you not losing...

Are you eating no more than 3 oz protien, 1/2 c veg, 1/4 c starch ...3 times each day ? Are you having no more than 1 or 2 Snacks which are low in calories?

Are you tracking your food on paper or a phone ap? I mean every single thing you put in your mouth. How many calories are you consuming daily?

Are you drinking 64 oz of Water each and every day?

If you are doing all of that and your calorie count is reasonable ( mine was 1000-1200 the first month or so)... You should be losing weight. If not then you may want to consider trying it.

No matter how you perceive the bands effectiveness... It's a tool to help you eat smaller portions to keep you satisfied longer. But you must out forth the effort in reducing your calories and portions.

If you are doing all of the above...you may have a medical reason you aren't losing so I would gather my food diaries and march into my drs to find out why.

Best of luck.

Like Floridays said. Track your foods to make sure you are eating correctly. Small plates and for forks keep me aware stil ltoday and that is 3 years afte surgery. i have been using a salad plate since my 1st consult with a nutritionist. It helps make you aware of food sizes. such as meeats should be the size of a deck of cards. If you have not seen a nutrionist, I would recommend doing so. They are helpful to guide you. Best wishes. karen

I agree with the above posters. If your food and calorie intake are lower your body has no choice but to lose weight. It cant hold on to fat if your not over eating.

the above so true and that work must be done first b4 going on. If all that is happening and you are getting hungry before the four hour mark then take you records and get in there again a get a fill...they work for you and as long as all the pre-work id done and you still hungry u need the fill.

You didn't say why the Dr won't give you a fill? Could it be you're not eating like a bandster? Also, I lost 12 lbs the first two weeks after surgery and then nothing for the next 3.5 months. I visited with my nutritionist(4th month) and she helped me understand that I was not eating like I should. That's why I ask if you're eating right? Have you visited with your nutritionist?

If you have restriction and if you eat the right way, and if you exercise, you should be losing weight.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
