about to meltdown

Recommended Posts

I'm about to flip out. I am being pressured by my dad to lose my weight. He wants 30kg in 2 months. He wants me work my ass off in this fuckin heat wave of 40.c and makes me eat chilli all because he believes the hot weather and chilli is fast for losing weight. I can't handle hot weather. It drives me crazy to the point of making me wanna kill someone. It makes me mentally unstable. I don't know what to do. He can't except a slow weight loss. My father is the type that will not accept anyone else's ideas or opinions he only believes in what he thinks. My mother was right to divorce him.

I just feel like suiciding at this point. I don't know what to do but maybe turn to drugs to help me forget.

Do you live with your Dad? If not take a break from seeing him and focus on you.

Please call 911, I agree with Carolina. But you sound like you are not in USA, so call your emergency #. How old are you? And how much weight do you need to lose? You have never filled out your profile. Can you go to your mother's place? Bless you and I am hoping that th eNew Year brings you a better feeling about yourself!!!

I'm in Australia I'll do the profile later. Here at the moment it's summer. Thanks for your concern I get like that when I'm exposed to the really hot weather.

I just can't tolerate it it all. I live with my dad but I am thinking of moving to my mums. I was here so I could lose my weight but it wasn't working out and I had the band done. Yet my father isn't satisfied he thinks the band is a miracle.

I don't need him anymore. This band has done better than all his methods combined and I will keep going at this pace.

Def try and go to your mum's. You dont need a person like that in your life right now. I know the feeling with the hot weather... I get mean like a rattlesnake and people don't understand just get the heck away from me and leave me alone untio I cool down. Those people just don't understand what it is like for us/people loosing weight. We don't need your mental abuse we have enough of our own.

Good luck. You have a lot of people on here that will help if we can. Even if it's just kind words

Do not listen to your dad...walk away but your life is so much more worth than losing it. I don't like it when people put others down about their weight. You stay in control and find another to confide in. We are here for you.

This does not sound healthy at all. You will find many of us here have that one toxic family member who just wasn't or isn't supportive. How old are you? You need to create some boundaries between you and your father. Why seek approval in the places you know you aren't going to get it? Life is too short! Do this for YOU! I promise you, if you do not deal with your emotional issues you will gain all of the weight back. I know this, because I was on the same emotional roller-coaster with my family for years. Please call 911, call your WLS support team, or a therapist.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
