mattinarizona81 1 Posted December 26, 2012 Hello, I am trying to get the lap band procedure done but my insurance declined it even as a medical necessity. They said my employer blocked obesity procedures from police. Has anyone experienced this? Was there a way to dispute it?
2muchfun 8,927 Posted December 26, 2012 Many employers block access to bariatric surgery but I don't understand the police comment? What do the police have to do with WLS? If your insurance plan has no bariatric provision you will have to pay for it yourself. Sorry. tmf
JennyBee 340 Posted December 26, 2012 I wonder if they meant to say from the "policy"? 1 papoose reacted to this
mattinarizona81 1 Posted December 26, 2012 Sorry. I meant policy. Lol. Well. I am considering an option for surgery in Mexico. I researched weightlossagents.com. Did anyone hear any good or bad things about that? 1 2muchfun reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted December 26, 2012 I would try to arrange something near where you live, and ongoing care and support are very important. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Rojasanoll 920 Posted December 26, 2012 Lucky I had insurance but mine cost $37,000 for out patient in Cottage hospital in Santa Barbara. So a cash deal would still cost $16-18000.
