dfav3412 116 Posted December 25, 2012 Hi MsRhonda, Your port can be sensitive for a little while. Have you overdone it? Other than walking most docs tell you not to start exercising until the 6th week. I know I did around the 3rd week and wasn't a good idea as I did feel it in the port area and my bariatrics center told me to stop as I was in the healing phase. If you are concerned then call your surgeon's office and def. call if it gets worse. 1 VictoriousPassion reacted to this
Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted December 25, 2012 I was banded in Sept & I still get port pain sometimes it depends on the day and if I do to much or lift something to heavy I have to lift 50lb boxes and I work in a deli so some of r meats weigh 5 lbs and I know if I eat a bit to much my port sticks out and gets very tender so yes it comes and goes and your healing so try to take it easy and always ask for help if you have someone around well good luck hope it gets better for you. mgbenavides2003 0 Posted December 27, 2012 I'm confused cause the nurse at hospital said I can take any over d counter med for pain. And I read here no Motrin or ibuprofen and others say no Tylenol. Which is it?
SkinnyCubanChick 150 Posted December 27, 2012 You really should not take Motrin or ibuprophen because these are NSAIDs. (Anti-inflammatories) these can erode the lining of your new stomach! I take adult strength liquid Tylenol from CVS! Works fine! 2 sayyida and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted December 27, 2012 Tylenol not NSAIDs! Port is the last to heal but get off RX pain meds asap! They make for terrible bowel situations! Happy New Year! 5 ☠carolinagirl☠, dee257, Maddysgram and 2 others reacted to this
