Christmas Eve Dinner-PASS!

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!

First off I would like to thank you all for all your advice, opinions and encouragement.

I had a wonderful time at my families house and made great choices of food. I am newly banded Dec 4th and tomorrow is my first day of solid foods, but I had text my doctor and he said I could have solids today!

My dinner consisted of 1 oz of mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and 4 oz of london broil. Half the family at the table does not know that I had lapband surgery and no one even noticed!! I am usually a 3 plate person at holidays, but I just cut small and ate slowly. There was london broil, pork ribs, corn, sweet potatoe marshmellow pie, greek salad, green bean casserole, amazing warm bread and homemade apple pie ala mode (eggnog icecream)

My self control now is at its best. Gosh I am so happy I had this surgery!! 29 pounds down as of today!! (since dec 1) I wish I could have had this control before the surgery, but no matter how I got here I am glad I am finally IN CONTROL. I passed on all Desserts, my sister who knows about my surgery, so she made a dessert I don't like on purpose so I wouldn't have to explain why no dessert!

Again, I thank each and everyone of you for everything you bring to LBT.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Congratulations! Merry Christmas to you! I'm 6 days post op and doc out me directly on mushies. I've been pretty much living off of Protein shakes and crystal light because I'm not hungry and mushies feel too heavy right now. I'm bringing my blender tomorrow though!! :) might even try some mashed potatoes.

Merry Christmas! I love sweet potato marshmallow pie, but my mom did not make it this year :(. Great job at the dinner and that was really thoughtful (and supportive) of your sister to do that with the desert.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
