Hi all,

I've been reading for a while and decided to start posting. I finally want to get and give support. I've been banded for 7 mos. now and have been struggling for the last 2.5 months with some regain. I am hoping someone can give me some really good advice about how to get back on track.

Can't wait to "meet" you all!

Hi Jennifer, I'm the DH. Welcome to LBT. My wife is going thru the same thing. She just had her second fill and she can eat just about anything, it seems. And I know I saw that barium just BARELY squeeze thru that band. What's up with that? And if she is losing at all, it is sooooooooo slowly. Maybe I should sign her up as a turtle??? Whaddayathing?

Hi Jennifer! Is it possible that you need a fill? I'm struggling with regain myself right now, so I feel your pain. I know my problem is exercise. Time to get my butt moving. Good luck to you!

hi jennifer. welcome! no one likes to excercise but having a band makes it crucial to do something. walking is a great tool and doing it for 30 min a day is awesome. you could also break that up, doing 3 10 minute sessions or 2 15 minute sessions. i know its hard but its really necessary. had you been journaling at all? im terrible with that but that is also a good way to see where you are. if its been a month since your fill, you probably do need another one. talk to your docs. most of them have great support teams for us to bend their ears. keep us posted.

Hi everyone, hi jennifer, don´t worry about anything, like ethansgrandma said, start off with 30 minutes of exercise, as she said 3 sessions of 10 minutes each, or 2 of 15. You can start off walking, you can invite a friend to go with you. It´s true, no one likes to exercise, but it is the most important part of our daily life style, exercise for good health. Don´t take it as to lose weight, but for good health. I know it´s easy to say this, and also hard to act, but it depends on each one of us, if we really want to go for it. Good luck jennifer!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
