SuzyMarie 17 Posted December 24, 2012 Hello there! I was banded on 11/12/12 and have lost a total of 39 pounds since 11/5/12 (pre op diet)! I went through a stage in the begininng after surgery like holy cow, what did i do to myself?! But... once the pounds started coming off, i really started to become a lap band addict I have followed all advice from my doctor to a T... i eat less than 1000 calories, i eat no more than a cup of food, and i make sure to get all the Protein i need. People ask me why i just didnt do that sort of diet without the band and i say the difference is that the band is there as a tool, to keep me in check! It makes me not want to "test" it or take chances, i want this to this right. I have continued to lost a steady 3-4 pounds a week and it feels great, if i had known it was this easy, i would have done this years ago! I hope everyone is having as much sucess as i am thus far and its great to have such a support system! Merry Christmas everyone! 1 finallytime reacted to this
Aqusis 16 Posted December 24, 2012 I'm right there with you! I was banded Nov 9, and I'm down 48. My surgeon even skipped my first scheduled fill last week. I know eventually the loss wit ll slow down and ill need a fill but I'm enjoying this while it lasts! Congrats on your loss!
kll724 3,055 Posted December 24, 2012 Congrats on your weightloss. Best part of the "tool" is that it keeps you on the straight and narrow. I am glad to hear that you are doing well, remember tho' the glow may come off and you will have to start working harder for your pounds to come off. keep up the good work, and Merry Christmas, Happy new Year to you! FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted December 24, 2012 Suzy you hit the nail on the head.... It's not complicated if you follow drs orders and eat what you are supposed to. In my opinion i never had a gain during my losing journey because I never bent the rules. Sure there are times you want to pig out and eat something that would prevent you from losing that day but that's where the beauty of the band shines... And unlike any other diet it's a constant reminder that you just cannot do it and get the results you desire. Sometimes my band and I would go to bed early so we didn't have to consider bad choices...lol I call the band my permanent reminder of a temporary feeling! Congratulations on your success! 5 finallytime, ☠carolinagirl☠, Shanna H and 2 others reacted to this
Mini coop 2 Posted December 24, 2012 I'm so glad to hear this. I was banded on 12/7 and feel great - have lost 16lbs. Even went to a Christmas party yesterday and did very good. Didn't even feel like eating much. I'm so excited that everything is going well though I do understand I might stall but so far so good. I was never a foodie - just ate bad choices and could never make it through any diets without giving up. Maybe that's why its easier?? I love everyone's support on here - I'm hooked!! Thanks! Aqusis 16 Posted December 24, 2012 Do you still drink the Protein shakes? No, my surgeon says no Protein Shakes at the 4 week post op point when he allows normal food. I get all my Protein from solid food.
PJ Geeser 108 Posted December 24, 2012 Holy ****...that is alot of weight....makes me depressed. I was banded 10/22 and have only lost 25 lbs. I follow the rules, dont cheat, eat a cup of food...very very frustrated with the slow loss since I am following to a T! Good for you guys, I hope it keeps going for you that way and hopefully mine will kick in soon I find it is not easy at all and hate being hungry 24/7 but am doing it

I should also include that I do try to get some exercise in, I have a desk job but I walk on my breaks and lunch so I can just burn some extra calories!
