What about the low carb tortillas as the crust? I have also seen a cauliflower crust recipe before. Worth a shot, right...

I really thought I was going to miss pizza and Pasta the most, but i find I don't have any cravings anymore. *knock on wood* When I was first banded and wanted to taste those things, I'd just eat a spoonful of Pasta Sauce.< /p>

I missed pizza at first, but just stayed away from it. At about 6 months out I made my own pizza.< /p>

Half slice of flat round multigrain bread toasted, then put on pizza sauce, FF feta cheese, turkey sausage, turkey pepperoni, mushrooms, shredded Parma cheese and a little FF mozzarella with some seasonings (add veggies if u like) and bake for 16 minutes at 375.

Love it!

I don't do Pasta, not benefit and just filler now days!

Oooh how do you do the cauliflower crust? My nutritionist said no bread, tortillas under any circumstances, how well does bread digest for you? Thanx for the tips everyone!

I don't have it often, maybe once every 3 or so months, but I still have a slice once in awhile.

Granted this is my opinion, but I'm not on a diet I'm changing my lifestyle forever. Deprivation isn't part of it for me, so if I want a slice of pizza, I have it. I'm just careful to only have one and count the calories in my daily total.

The cauliflower crust is easy. You rice (shred) 2 cups of cauliflower and steam it in the microwave. Drain any remaining Water and pat dry. Then put 1 egg for every cup of cauliflower (if you use 3 cups for a bigger family dinner then use 3 eggs) and any seasonings. Put in a glass pan and cook on 375 for 10-12 minutes. The crust will be firm and act just like normal pizza crust. Then add your toppings and broil for 3-5 minutes to cook cheese.

This is a family favorite and once I am able to eat solid food again I will have it :)

I agree. Why eat a cauliflower based pizza? ! Oh ICK... Now, just have a slice, not a whole pizza. Figure it in to your daily menu before hand and you will have your pizza. You will find ONE slice is enough. That's the beauty of the band as a TOOL, you need never "diet" again.

I like to use half a piece of whole wheat pita. Just the half makes two meals for me. It's a very good multi grain and easier for me to digest then bread. You can top it any way you like.

I like to use a little grilled chicken, peppers, onions, and low fat mozzerella cheese. I'm not much of a marinara fan though so I use a teaspoon of BBQ Sauce or just a teaspoon oil and parmeson cheese in its place.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
