Hi Tomander, I'm just throwing a thought out there and not sure how much interest or if it's even a possibility, but it would be neat if you had a skype type option where others could join your coffee group from different locations. I'm in the US, but would like to be a part of this and I'm sure there is free WiFi at a coffee shop and some type of free setup to do this (hey Alex this might be nice to add to LBT :)) My support group is not all that great and people don't show up, I never get the updates when they are having it (they say it's computer glitches) and when I did finally make it, I was the one and only person who showed up, hence I'm on LBT all of the time for support or just to hear what others are experiencing.

Hi

A few people have mentioned that to me... I host 4 different groups... in different locations... all in coffee shops... I think they have WIFI.... we usually get anywhere from 8 to 20 people out to our groups..it all depends... I don't ask people to sign up... the only problem would be the noise factor and I"m not sure how that would work. I'm not really sure how Skype works. Do people have to sign in?

Honestly, I'm not that well versed on Skype, but I found this online to help shed some light on the topic, it looks like you can get at least 10 people on at the same time http://blogs.skype.com/en/2010/09/10_way_video_calling.html. I do know Skype is free, but I've only used it once with my mom and that was fun (she is not tech savvy at all :))

Actually, this might be a better option: http://allthingsd.com/20120821/a-chance-to-call-15-friends-to-video-chat-in-high-def/. That Skype article I had above was older and after looking into it further, it looks like there is a fee for multiple callers on a video chat. This article in this message is from August 2012 and says it's free and you can have up to 15 people and people can be sent invites to join the video conference, but I have no experience with this program.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
