I WAS WONDERING CAN WE HAVE RED CHILI PEPPERS OR HOT SAUCE WHILE ON LIQUID DIET?????

Recommended Posts

if you are on liquids only, no peppers...didnt your dr give you a hand out of what you could or couldnt have??

because we all have different drs, its best to go by what your particular dr suggests...because what works for me, may not be what your dr wanted you to follow

Give it a try and let us know how you make out. I would say no.

I suppose if you can blend up the peppers to the point of being liquid..... And you are used to hot foods... It would be ok but I would check with the doctor to be sure he wouldn't think the acid would be harmful....

I have to laugh about this one but an honest question. I also love spicy food and since being band for some odd reason the hotter the better. My first semi solid food when I was allowed some soft or semi sold food was Hot and Sour Soup with extra Sharrachi Sauce added. I have an idea and I am serious, if you can have full liquids, than roast some sweet peppers (red) some Roma tomatos, some hot peppers and some garlic and onion in the oven. Once roasted add all to food processer and puree than add back to saucepan, add some broth to thin and a little salt and pepper and you have spicy roasted Tomato pepper soup. I have actually made this before when i lived in the midwest it is a little time consuming but very yummy. As you can all tell as my friends on here know I love to cook and work hard on making lap band friendly recipes.< /p>

You can eat peppers with the band, they are low in calorie and when roasted go down very well, just give it time and you will be able to enjoy them again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
