anybody else worried about weight gain?

Recommended Posts

Yes, even though of course I know that weight gain during pregnancy is "normal" and even healthy and desireable, it is very hard for me to watch the numbers, which I fought so hard to make go down, go up.

I know what everyone will say, that now is not the time to diet (and I'm not) and that I should not be starving my baby (I'm not), but I just want to validate you, OP, it is very difficult for me to "enjoy" or even deal with this weight gain!

Good luck!

I would be concerned if you lost weight throughout the pregnancy. The little one comes first! You are eating for two now... Make it healthy!

It is truly the hardest thing for me right now. I am having a big struggle with myself. I am 23 weeks and I've gained 11 lbs which is exactly where my doc says I should be but right before I became pregnant I had just lost 60+ lbs. So its hard to be moving back up the scale now. Because all the weight is in my stomach i look like I've gained way more then that. I went to buy new work pants last night and was so upset with how I looked in the mirror I just left the store :(

I know once my baby boy is here I can lose it but the mental struggle of excepting that I'm gaining and the wonderful pregnancy hormones that make me burst into tears at the drop of a hat makes it seem far worse then it is.

I don't know if this is the right tread. I lost 88lbs last year at little over 9 months and then i got pregnant. My son is 5 months old now and I am really struggling with my weight I have almost 60lbs back :-( I have not been able to go to the doctor due to insurance. I really need support!

I have 6.5 in my band, it remained at 6.5 my whole pregnancy. But now and acutely towards the end of my pregnancy I felt hardly no restrictions. What can I do to get restriction back???? Without a fill.

Are u able to see your gp for saline fills? In new zealand (where i live) bands have become quite common and many gps are able to administer fills. If your band is not filled enough or filled too much you are unable to lose weight without alot of difficulty. It will be beneficial for you to recieve fills otherwise your band fitting would have been to no benefit for you. All the best with your journey.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
