It sounds like gas. I was still on liquids at your stage....drs are all different... But at one week post op it took me 10 to 15 minutes to drink a glass of Water. And when I first was allowed mushies at 3 weeks it took 20 minutes to eat 1/2 c.

Gas x, heating pads and lots and lots of walking around.............I had the pains come and go for about 8 weeks, good luck. The walking does help.

The doctor said it was gas but this pain is literally debilitating . I was shopping and the pain almost takes your breath away. I have not returned to work yet but I can't have this pain while I work. And I'll be honest I can handle pain pretty well but today was the worse! Keep the comments coming any help is better than no help!!!

You maybe have always been able to handle pain...but don't forget you are dealing with a whole new set if issues. You cannot eat like you have your entire life, you just had surgery where your chest cavity was filled with air...you are realizing that life as a bandster isn't a walk in the park....your emotions are raw...... Give yourself a break and rest and walk.... Sip everything and don't try to rush it.... Your body needs to heal.

So sorry. I didn't know you were still dealing with this today. Is it worse than yesterday? Have you tried massage? Maybe that would move it around? :-(

My doctor warned me about that shoulder pain/gas pain prior to procedure. Never realized how much that would actually hurt. I'm one day post op and the gas pains feel worse than the actual procedure itself. The only thing that helps me is walking around and repositioning myself from a lying to sitting position. Hope you feel better soon
