Blood Work

I just went for my blood work (13 viles) and they could only get 1!! Now what?! This is terrible. Any suggestions on helping blood flow? I drank so much Water yesterday and it still didn't help.

I am not a medical technologist but I'm not sure why they would need 7 tubes of blood. You may want to check with the lab where the tests are being done to see how much blood they actually needed. I am sure they will just redo the test on another day. Perhaps the vein gave out when she switched the tubes... but not sure why they wouldnt stick you again. I wouldnt worry... if they need more the dr will order it.

and today, doing a check up, it was 2...wow that is different.

Yeah, 13 viles! They had to stick me multiple times and the last time they finally got a dot of blood and that was it.

I don't know about the us...... But here in Australia there is no way any lad would require 13 viles. I am a phlebotomist( blood collector) and we can get up to 10 tests from 1 tube unless the doctor is requesting 13 specialty tests which is very uncommon. Here we have a "2 jab rule" unless it's in er and an emergency situation. You might want to go to another collection centre and ask them to check that. Modern medicine with the latest technology wouldn't never require 1 tube per test!!!

thats alot of "pricks" pardon my french! I bleed pretty easily and I'm coming up on a 6 month follow up with all blood tests again to see how I'm doing.
