Sharp pain and have to go to work!!!

Recommended Posts

Yeah I completely understand! Haha I've lost like 12lbs. I hink my body is going into starvation mode now though. It's holding on to every oz which I expected to happen. I'm working on increasing my caloric intake!

My port is underneath (pretty much) my biggest incision. Mine is above a a wee bit to the left of my belly button.

Please take it easy, I wasn't allowed any exercise for 6 weeks. He used the phrase 'pop a stitch' which stuck with me. Even the pushing and pulling could be too much so try to take it easy.........good luck

You are entitled to ask your doctor where the port is for future pains. I asked my surgeon prior where he wanted to install the port. He replied good question? He said based on what he sees inside during surgery will actually determin where to install the port. They usually sew it to a muscle mass so it doesn't move and can be easily "filled".

I ask all kinds of questions to my docotr before and even now, how much cc did he put in my fill. It's good information to have.

Best wishes and Keep the Faith

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
