aprilmmason 17 Posted December 20, 2012 Hi! I'm brand new here. I am one day post op (12/18/12) and I feel terrific. Have gas pain once in a while radiating mostly to my left shoulder but when I get up and walk around it subsides. I've been taking the pain meds but I'm hoping not to need them much longer. The left side is very tender but not unbearable. I feel like this was the best decision I've ever made for myself. 2 CHEZNOEL and ♕ajtexas♕ reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted December 20, 2012 Congratulations on being banded. It was certainly the best decision I ever made for myself too. Right after kicking out husband #1... LOL 2 ♕ajtexas♕ and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted December 20, 2012 Welcome and congratulations in starting your new healthy life. The band was the best thing I did too. Lots of great people here, lots of support and love (a few jokes too!). Good luck to you. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

aprilmmason 17 Posted December 20, 2012 Oops hit enter too fast lol... I decided that I'm worthy of being healthy. I've been overweight since I was 16. It's time to take care of myself 20 years later... I'm a nursing student and I don't want to end up like so many patients that I see. Much of their problem (s) can be alleviated by losing weight. 2 lifewillbegood and ♕ajtexas♕ reacted to this

Sav22age 9 Posted December 20, 2012 Congrats on the band. I was banded 12/19/12. It is such a great feeling to know its done. I too have had gas pain in the left shoulder and discomfort on my right side. I also had hernia repair which was unexpected. Walking and frequent change of position is helpful. Cheers to our new life in 2013!

Cheers to our new life in 2013! Congrats to you as well! When I signed consent it included hernia repair too but luckily I didn't need one. The decision for a band took a while for me. My PCP mentioned it to me a year ago. I'm do glad I made the decision to do it and I'm so glad it's over.
