What happens when you don't get enough protein everyday?

Recommended Posts

Thank you everyone!!! Very helpful I will go to GNC tomorrow and see about getting the Protein Shots as the thought of my hair falling out is AWFUL and if it helps with loosing faster I am all for that. thanks again

Google Biotin, this is what I take for the hair lose. I use the chewable GNC brand and take two soft chews perday. My hair dresser even noticed the differenct in my hair. I will warn you that the Protein shots are pretty nasty, well at least I think they are, they are strong in flavor, sour and bitter. I had a hard time finding a Protein Powder I liked, I do like the unflavored brands as stated about and now I drink Pure Protein Frosty chocolate. Protein Drinks are so individualized and what you may like today in six months your taste buds change.

I was banded Dec 3rd. I am having a real hard time getting 60 grams of Protein in everyday. Does anyone know what happens when we do not get enough protein everyday? Thank you

Protein is essential to losing weight, so if your not getting enough protein it will be harder for you to drop pounds. Lack of protein can also cause your hair to thin and fall out. If your having a hard time getting in protein, the one thing I have found I can keep down post-op is "egg drop soup" lots of protein with chicken broth and egg! I can only have about 1/2 cup at a time though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
