Just checking in to see how Floridays and Qtjan5 are feeling today?

My hubby bought me a pretty walking cane yesterday... It has really helped alot with getting around by myself.

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes, they are greatly appreciated. :)

I had my Tummy Tuck, an arm lift and liposuction of the flanks on Friday. Have pretty much been either in the recliner sleeping, or walking up and back to the bathroom. Since I had Lipo, my whole back is one giant black and blue mark. I took bandages off both arms and tummy yesterday so my mom could sponge bathe me, and it was a little overwhelming to see my flat tummy. I have two drains in my abdomen, which hopefully will be taken out on Thursday when I see my surgeon. Overall, it is not as bad as I expected. Will post pictures when I finally get back to where my computer is.

Hi all. Today has been 1 week 1 day since my Tummy Tuck. I went for my first post-op appointment and got my binder today. Yay! They said I will probably get the first drain removed next week and then the other one a week or two later. I was able to sleep in my bed for the first time last night. I'm not quite standing up straight just yet, but I'm going close.

Hang in there ladies, let's keep going up from here. =)

Glad to hear you are doing well...I'm a week post surgery and I'm feeling okay. I'm still pretty sore but I went for my follow up visit yesterday and had both drains removed. Today, I was finally able to shower and I spent most of the day awake and about the house. For the binder, i find it is really helping, as it holds all the swelling in.

I was instructed to wear the binder pretty much all the time for the next 3 weeks. I took it off early in my recovery, to clean myself and then today when I showered but I put it right back on immediately after. I found that even after 30minutes of not wearing it, I was more uncomfortable than I was when it was on.

From what my doctor told me, I have to wear the binder all the time for the next 3 weeks. I take it off once a day to shower, and if I don't shower on a given day, I take it off at least once a day for a few minutes to readjust the tightness of the binder, as the swelling differs from day to day.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
