Nope! Since I don't cook I will buy all my Cookies store bought in tins ready to give.

Of course, there's nothing like a fresh baked cookie out of the oven.

Merry Christmas

Yep. Made a ton of different types of party mix last week for gifts. I bagged it all up before I had a chance to taste, put names on it and put it in a big bag to take to work and put it away. Out of site hopefully out of mind!

why cant you have a bite?

you are not on a diet. so eat some of (whatever) and then stop.

enjoy the holiday. stressing wont do you any good. allow yourself to enjoy life today.

I'm with Kime-lou! I have to bake tons of Cookies. It is a very slippery slope if I start testing and trying this early in the holiday game. I'll have my share of indulgences, but it will because I want whatever it is, not because I happen to be making it. I also know that sugar is my 'drug of choice' and right now I'm going to just say no, although it is killing me! :)

I eat my dinner (I work full time) and then start my baking. By being full I'm less temped to eat Cookies. Baking on an empty stomach would be a mistake!

After 18 months post surgery and 80 lbs worth of success I may have a cookie but I know I can stop there. I would never want to regain my weight. I find eating 1/2 of a treat takes care of the urge and then I am done,

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
