Friday December 21st start of a new me.

My surgery is the 21st. I thought I would be nervous or excited or something more than what I am. I think I have wanted this for so long and I am finally getting it. I am just ready to start building a better me.

Good luck and congrats! I completely understand the lack of excitement. I'm post op day 6 now. Still not excited! I feel like it will come when I start actually losing the weight idk though. Haha. Right now the only feeling I'm experiencing is being nervous. I'm afraid to do something wrong and cause my band to slip or throw up. I know it's noun to happen but I really don't want that feeling!

That's probably how I will be as well. Just waited so long to finally have this opportunity I don't want to do anything to mess it up once I have it.

Hey- I too am being banded on the 21st! My husband was banded on 12/12. He's doing fine. Things certainly look different around dinner time, but no had this done to remain the same! Lol. Each day is a blessing, embrace eac step of the journey!!

Yeah that's really how I feel. My hubby was banded 2 weeks before me. And by week 2 he was on solids. Not suppose to be but he's so stubborn and was cranky he needed food. I can't scold him. He would do it behind my back. I can only support him and make sure he chews it up till it's purred. Which he's doing pretty good. He's had a couple of stuck episodes from eating too fast but he's learning.

Well everything went really well showed up at 7:30. Think it was about 9 when they took me back. Was back home by 1:00. Feel pretty good. Have been able to drink broth and my Protein share this morning

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
