Did you try the generic version of it? My port site is still uncomfortable but not painful anymore. It seems like that hard bump I had went down quite a bit over the last 4 or 5 days. Hope you feel better. :-(

Unfortunately because the port is sewn into the muscle and is the biggest incision to heal it may hurt and be bothersome up to three months. Everything that was cut has to heal including nerves to regerate and the muscle itsself to heal. One day you will wake up and it will be gone.

You know what's weird? My skin (at least on the surface) is still numb.

I didn't realize you were only getting 2 doses from the children's pain reliever. Hopefully you won't need it much longer.

If your incision is healed then try ice or heat. Which ever one feels better. If your incision is not healed then I wouldnt do heat. It's just a wait situation. Numbness at the scar site is normal since nerves were cut during surgery.

Are u sure its not 200mg. 200ml is a very large dose. if the suspension is 160mg/5ml. That's like 6400mg of ibuprofen. Prescription strength is only up to 800mg not to exceed 3-4 doses. Too much ibuprofen can cause gi bleeding.

yes, mine hurt for about a month (not pain pain) but tender....the doctor had to cut my tummy and sew this thing in and so scar tissue is forming (ouch and explains the tender pain). i took and still use the liquid (cvs brand tylenol) for pain. .....i know it will get better but right now it sure doesnt seem like it. hang in there okay :)

I am in JAX too. Hope you feel better soon. I had hernia repair at the same time and that took much longer to heal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
