hmendoza 1 Posted December 30, 2012 My surgery was end of November. I'm struggling. Everything went well and pain was minimal but working out is still uncomfortable. I got my first fill and I can tell there is a struggle to eat. I am struggling with food and wanting to eat everything and anything. I guess I forgot to realize that getting this done would suddenly make me stop craving food like an addict. Does anyone else struggle like this or just me? lifewillbegood 68 Posted December 30, 2012 Well first off Congrats on your surgery and i completely understand on wanting to eat eat eat. I wished the band could take away cravings as well as it does the hunger. Its all about lifestyle changes and what u want more...The junk food and sweets or to be healthy and thin. I think in time it will get easier. We just have to figure out how to put the cravings in the back of our mind. U could always allow yourself something as long as its a very small portion and u count it in your calories. i wished i had advice of how to take thsm away but i dont. But i do want to let u know youre not alone!!! Im here if u need to chat! My name is maegan btw
FutureMrsH 86 Posted December 31, 2012 I totally relate today my girls and I skipped going to the park due to rain. So we stayed in to bake. All the great smells it was so hard not to sample as everyone ate and ate so I opted for my sugar free Jello pudding. hang in there my motivator is the scale. It keeps going down and down. I know they say not to be a slave to the scale, but I think in the beginning its important to see progress. Im here if anyone needs me for support. Only 4 very close people to me know about my band. Its nice to come here and share our journeys.
lifewillbegood 68 Posted December 31, 2012 Yeah baking was one of my fav things to do! I still think that its possible to do that i just have to choose how much i eat and make sure im countig calories and burning off what i did eat. Good for you on making the substitute. It is hard to fight the mind but it can be done maybe not alone but with support! Looking at the scale does help for now. I know eventually a plateau will happen but until then im gonna keep looking lol yes im hoping we can all be here for each other!!!
hmendoza 1 Posted December 31, 2012 Thanks ladies, this means a lot. I have good hours and then BAD hours. Yes my progress is hours, that's how I know I'm an addict of food. I will continue to use this site as a tool to motivate my will to do better. Thanks for the support, my husband is the only one that knows about the surgery so this is nice to have. 1 lifewillbegood reacted to this

SusanSk 6 Posted January 4, 2013 Today I ordered the Big Book on the Lap Band. I need to remember to follow the doctors guidelines instead of doing what I want. I am two weeks post op, and just starting the pureed portion of the diet. My rationalization is that if I can eat small chunks, then I can eat just about anything and make sure that when I swallow it, it is in small chunks! WRONG! I had some scalloped potatoes and bread thinking that because I am not filled, my band would not cause any restriction. Welcome to a pain at the sternum for not following doctors orders! I am going to be a better patient so I can be a better success story.

Just remember mistakes are okay as long as you learn from them!!! :-) 2 beabenitez1978 and SusanSk reacted to this
lifewillbegood 68 Posted January 4, 2013 So I've dreaded looking at the scale since i went over the 200lb mark. I never thought it would happen but it did. I only went to 215 but still for me and my height that's alot! I know i don't have as much to lose as others but i feel like i have something to look forward to when i stepped on the scale and it registered 199!!!! I was under 200 for the fist time in months. I couldn't believe it! 8im so happy with my success so for and its def keeping me motivated!!!! 1 beabenitez1978 reacted to this
