Need help feeling down

Recommended Posts

I know how you feel! I felt like this a couple of days ago thanks to my vet that had been banded for years that put me back on track. We have to eat our Protein first then the other foods. Slider foods are like cream of wheat that is loose not thick it can run off your spoon, baby food, purée foods. An remember don't drink 30 to 45 minutes before your meal and 2 hours after. I too love this site being a Newbie takes time and commitment and encouragement from others that have been where we are now! I'm glad I did the band and I know you are too. We just have to listen, follow Dr instructions and walk walk and sip sip and chew chew little bites. One day we will look back and be Vets to help Newbies like ourselves. Have a bless day and don't worry you will hit your green zone it takes a while for some. I'm waiting on my first fill in January 3 2013, xoxoxoxox

The tuna was probably ok, I never would have done lettuce this early on. Kiel up the great work with the mushies!

You just need to keep trying things and keep track of what keeps you full and what gets stuck. I had a very small menu to start, but I found what I liked and what worked. When I have stalls or start eating too much, I go back to that list.

Hang in there. it is a tough time of year and the body does strange stuff while healing. Stay away from the scales for a few days' date=' and eat more protein.[/quote']

Excellent advice, thanks!

Please don't be sad. Same thing happened to me. Just concentrate on healing & trust me you will be fine. I was worried as well & my dr dismissed my concerns & said "we haven't really started yet". You body is holding on to anything you can give it while you are healing. Xx

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
