So I'm curious how people weigh them selves. I'm using a home scale but it's always giving different numbers so im never sure.

My husband says our scale doesn't work... it gives me different numbers all the time... and he's right, but I'm ok with it as long as the numbers keep going down. hhahahha

I bought a new scale after surgery and it is consistent However, I know it's 2 pounds heavier than my doctor's scale. So, I just take that into consideration when weighing myself.

I weigh myself daily, sometimes even twice a day, morning and night. I need that accountability. I got to over 400 pounds by avoiding scales and won't make that mistake again.

I weigh myself every morning and every night. Its different than the Dr's scale by 2-3 lbs. Its different than my GYN dr by 5-6 lbs..its different than my friend's scale..... but I dont care. Its a good measuring tool and it will tell me if weight goes up.

I spent my lifetime ignoring scales. I was 377 lbs at surgery. That will never happen again.

I got very confused yesterday when I weighed myself and I put on a kg over the week I couldn't believe it. Then I tried again today and it showed different, half a kilo lost.

It's so stressful stepping onto the scale :[

I weigh more in the evening than I do in the morning. You may want to pick a time to do it the same day... maybe morning before you eat or drink anything.... then you will have a good benchmark. Also... I have a $20 scale but its newer. I had problems with my old one because it wasnt for people over 300 lbs...

My doctor said my scales are fine. I weigh every day when I get up after I pee and in my birthday suit (TMI I know) and I chart my weight. This gives me an accurate movement since it's daily on the same scale.

I however would love the FITBIT ARIA scale.< /p>

I weigh every day and record it once a week, i also need accountability, i got to 400lbs by not weighing myself, i will never make that mistake again. U must make sure u weigh the same time every day, normally first thing after bathroom stuff and without clothes or just underwear, it has to be the same thing every day for u to get an accurate account, some weigh 2 x daily, thats ok too, if u have eaten a lot the nighttime weigh in will show you. The scales are a tool like the band, make them your friend not your enemy and get a good set of scales, preferably electronic ones and dont move them even a different flooring can make them say a different amount..

My scale is very consistent and somehow weighs me exactly the same as my surgeon's scale and 2 pounds lighter than the scale at the gym. Although that 2 pounds could be the clothes and shoes.

Then how do you know which figure is right?

I use the morning number ....always have. Like today. I had a dr appointment. I weighed myself naked in the morning like always . I was 157. I weighed myself dressed I was 159. I went to the Dr at 10am. I had only had Water to drink. I weighed 159 with the same clothing on as I did at home (jeans are heavy evidentially). So this month mine and the Dr's scale was the same.

once a week, birthday suit, in the morning. (Sounds like a Clue answer!) Also weigh at the docs, but his scale is exactly 3 lbs lighter than mine. I record my numbers and he is always happy!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
