I fell off the wagon...

Recommended Posts

Oh no, I fell off the wagon tonight and had 2 fish tacos from Rubios (instead of my normal 1). I feel SO guilty right now. I swear, I can cry. I am constantly feeling hungry, even after 2 fills. Can anyone spare some advice? I've lost 45 lbs in my 2.5 months of having lapband. Am I a complete failure? :'(

45 lbs is not a failure, loosing is better than gaining and when u fall off the wagon one u recognize it make the proper adjustments and get back on.what im learning is alot. Of things will be trial and error.

I haven't had my lap band yet, actually, I get it done this Friday but all I have to say is try not to beat yourself up. Get back on schedule and just remember to try to do better next time. I think you have done AMAZING at losing 45lbs. I admire you because I was told we may only lose 1-2 lbs a week. But, again, please don't try to beat yourself up. God Bless!

45lbs is a great start! Congratulations on your SUCCESS so far, it was a slip up.. But you recognized it, now time to correct it. I would make sure to go for a nice long walk or some sort of activity and get right back on track next meal!

Please stop beating yourself up, this is what we used to do all the time. You ate a bit extra compensate by doing some extra exercise over the next few days.

Your loss so far is outstanding so stand tall and proud.

If you're constantly hungry you need more fills and this is the tough part.

There were times at the beginning I'd eat that bit extra too because I was hungry. On e I got the right amount if fill the hunger disappeared.

No one should tell you what you should and should not do...only share their own personal experiences....

When I was 2.5 months out from surgery, it was still more me and my will power as though I was still dieting and part of the "White Knuckle" club....., I could eat a lot of things........

as opposed to the band doing it's job which did not start to happen until 6 months out.....

In my case, my band will not me eat 2 fish tacos, no matter how hard I try, unless they were small.

I know the feeling I had lap-band 10 months ago and eat more sometime but each day is a new day u can get back on track. 45 lbs is great do not give up.

if you are hungry (eat). but eat good healthy/protein filled foods...remember you are not on a diet. there are no bad foods. eat what you want but in smaller amounts...what's done is done. so whining wont solve anything.

so put your shoulders back, head up and make this work. look at what you have done so far. minus 45.....that is super fantastic.

to be a failure you must say screw this and keep on eating junk food...you saw....you adjusted....you accepted.....now you are moving on.

bee well

One meal means nothing. Telling yourself "I messed up today so I'll wait till Monday to eat healthy" would be a problem. My suggestion would be to eat one taco and fill the void with a Protein (beans) or a veggie/salad.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
