lapbandkeira 99 Posted December 13, 2012 Am I crazy? I've been going through the dreaded Hair loss, people have even noticed my hair thinning but I'm noticing some Hair growth on my face, on my upper lip and some on my neck, not just the little crap under my chin. I'm taking 10,000 mg of Biotin a day and I don't want to stop but has anyone else experienced this? is it a side effect of the Biotin? Hormones? Ugh I did this to be a sexy woman but now I'm starting to look like a man
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted December 13, 2012 I only take 5000 Biotin, and not facial hair. Could be hormones changes due to weight loss. 2 destynee1 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Sojourner 2,446 Posted December 13, 2012 This is a concern best addressed with your medical team. Like Chez, my surgeon advised that I could take a 5000 Biotin daily. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Summerrain 520 Posted December 13, 2012 I stopped taking Biotin because at the five month mark I still shed a lot of hair. Every single diet I've been on in the past once I've lost a huge amount of weight which is usually at the five month mark I get the hair shedding. It's something that happens naturally a few times a year anyway, weightloss makes it a bit more. After a month I've found it's all settled down. I've never been a hairy person and personally I didn't find Biotin has made any difference and I took it every day for the first five months.
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted December 13, 2012 i would say that at 2 and 3 months, i started noticing more hair (in the tubaround the drain). told my dr, he said its normal and not to worry. he told me to keep up on my Protein and it will get better. and at 6 months out, i have noticed it fuller and growing faster (same with my nails). i do not take Biotin. i did for the first couple months but my dr said it doesnt really do anything (this is my dr only and he is whoms advise i follow). and for the hair on my lip (no chin yet) i just wax that right off....i think it will get better if not, as sojo says, ask your doctor for guidance bee well
