Me too! I can't stand synthisized music! I was just about to start this same line of questions. Also, treadmill or outside (in the cold)?

I use "Ease into 5k" you can listen to your own music and it has voice prompts to tell you when to run and when to walk. It also keeps a journal of your runs (mileage, time, pace.) I'm on week three and really enjoying it.

There are many good ones through the App Store.....

I have done the C 2 5K and the C 2 10K.

Don't be afraid to spend a few dollars....you get what you pay for....

My C25k cost a little less than $5 and it was excellent.....My 10K was free and STUNK! So I downloaded another one that cost a few bucks and it was worth it.

Incidentally, I cannot run without MY favorite music, that means GOOD noise canceling earbuds, so it is just me and my music, oblivious to anyone and everything around me....

And the music cannot be "Calm, gentle and smoothing"....I HAVE to have hard driving, loud rock and roll....

Also, I will not use my phone....last thing I want is text messages, e-mails or calls beeping in the background. Plus it will get dropped, wet, and just

take a lot of abuse.

I LOVE Jeff Galloway. He has great apps and teaches you how to run injury free. His app also comes with his voice piping in and giving you good tips and advise. I love it!

I use one called C25K I'm on week 3 and I like it. Can play your own music and it has the prompts that break in to tell you when to run and when to walk.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
