cindywv 0 Posted April 8, 2006 I have developed a peptic ulcer since my lap band surgery. Has anyone out there had this occur? If so, were you able to continue using the lap band?
paula 4 Posted April 8, 2006 Hi Cindy, and WELCOME to LapBandTalk.com The news that Ive heard regading stomach ulcers while banding isnt positive. Im sure, depending on where the ulcer is, this could be classified as band erosion. Has your doctor prescribed you meds? and, has he discussed band removal due to this ulcer? You can try doing a search on this site for past members discussing ulcers while banding. You may find some interesting reading rgarding this topic! Good luck! cakey123 0 Posted October 9, 2010 can you not get a lapband if you could have an ulcer
elcee 3,342 Posted October 9, 2010 I don't see why you shouldn't be able to continue using it. Most stomach ulcers are caused by the H Pylori bacteria so presumably you have been tested for and are receiving treatment for that.
trouble1245 0 Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) I have developed a peptic ulcer since my LAP-BAND® surgery. Has anyone out there had this occur? If so, were you able to continue using the LAP-BAND®? I just had it last year. I just had an upper GI endosopy done this week Oct. 25, 2010. The band is erosion and has a fundus. I was told that they would have to had the band remove. Had 2 fill done and nonething. Edited October 29, 2010 by trouble1245 add date
