TrishS 3 Posted April 7, 2006 I had a fill on March 10th, My Dr. gave me a shot to numb me and then he gave me the fill so two shots really. Anyway its been 4 weeks since that day and it dont look good. At first it was a small bruse then it just got worse.. its all scabbed up like it was a cut. It doesnt hurt or anything just bugs. Here is a picture of it... it looks like one of my cuts after surgery. I hope its okay... Any advise? Thanks

paula 4 Posted April 7, 2006 Is THAT where your port is? Im confused. Looks like your port is a good 2 1/2 inches away. - the long line where your pinkey is. Regardless, I dont like the looks of this. Ida already made a call!

babsintx3 0 Posted April 7, 2006 Hi Trish, I have had 11 fills in 3 years with and without numbing agent and I am extremely prone to infections. I have never seen a wound like this appear after a fill on me or anyone else I know. I think you have an infection. Maybe staph??? I hope your port is not infected. That wouldnt be good. Please go in ASAP. Somethings not right here. Babs in TX 334/180ish -150 ish
TrishS 3 Posted April 7, 2006 Babs, yeah I was thinking "Staph" too..of the way its presenting itself. Its not hot to the touch or anything its hard like a scab doesnt itch or anything either... just after 4weeks its kinda scarey

NJChick 3 Posted April 7, 2006 You might want to get some Triple Antibiotic in the pharmacy or grocery store until you can get to a doctor. It doesn't look good to me either Trish. Let us know huh and don't wait !! Hugs
the best me 6 Posted April 7, 2006 Go to your PCP. Dang Trish. I don't like that, it isn't normal, for sure. Let us know wht the PCP does. At the very least a good round of oral antibiotics is in order, so says Doctor Kathy, right?! Call your Band doc, make an appointment with your PCP. Keep us posted. Anwyn 0 Posted April 7, 2006 Even if you can't drive to see the band doc, give him a call. Maybe he can call something in to the pharmacy or advise your PCP on the best treatment. Keep him in the loop, because your regular doc won't have seen this before. (((HUGS)))

Hallo TrishS; why don't you attach the picture you showed us in the e-mail to your surgeon- that way he can make himself a picture of what you try to discribe to him- sometimes a picture is worth more than a thousand words! Just MHO. Good luck.
