Congrats to you, i hope everything else is going well for you. With regards to the soreness and the stitch, i would call the dr.s office and ask to speak to the nurse to see if this is normal at this stage in the game. I am only 2 weeks out so couldn't tell you, but that is what i would do. Good luck to you!

I am six weeks post op too. I had an appt last week (week 5) for my 1st fill but it was postponed until Jan 2 due to my steady weight loss and because of my preceived 3 hour post meal satiety. Now, I am feeling hungry 3 hours post meal. My nurse said I could call and she would squeeze me before the 2nd if I want but I think I will be able to maintain healthy choices and proper portion sizes until my scheduled appointment. Its good to know they're always there for me when I need them.

I too have a stitch protruding from the port incision site. My doc and nurse both said to not worry about it...it will disolve in time.

If you have any signs of infection at your incision site you should report it as soon as posible...( inflamation, drainage, new or excessive pain, fever).

Good luck to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery!

The hunger is normal and it's called "Bandster Hell". For some it's like being ravenous all the time. It doesn't go away until the patient finds some restriction/satiety when eating. The stitch will eventually fall out and the soreness could continue for some time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
