Thanks Sue. You are right. I'm going to make some major changes with my eating. I have to get my Protein in in ways besides just the powder. So sad that I didn't realized that. My man has been saying the same thing.

That's great! I would never test my band based on sliders. It will really help you in the long run to make it work eating real food as you will need to deal with this the rest of your life. Let me know how you do with the changes. You can do it and you will enjoy your food so much more!

Good decision, as I posted earlier I had the same problem. I had 1cc taken out now I'm at 4.5cc and still tight but may be the perfect spot we'll see. mushy and liquid flow fine, solids as long as I chew chew chew I'm ok for the most part..

I'm doing really good. I'm kinda nervous about messing with starches. I went out with a friend and decided to taste some bread. Before I let too much time pass, I spit out the bread. I really don't know what that moment was about, but I got over it fast. I am not going to allow the Fluid to come out just to do something foolish.

Misty, go ak for a slight unfill. You should not live with only drinking liquids. I don't knw if you have followed anu=yones suggeestions yet, but if not you are 10 days of liquids. See your surgeon on MOday. Best wishes, Karen

I may be of a differing opinion but sometimes by day 3 or 4 you may still be able to only do liquids after a fill. My last fill was probably my most difficult, it took me a week before I was able to resume normal eating. I had no vomiting or reflux it was just difficult to get 3 ozs of solid Protein down within the 20 minute period. If you can not pass liguids and you are having reflux than yes you probably need an unfill. But some people are more sensative to the fills and the swelling and irritation can last a little longer than 3 days.

Im having similiar issues. Calling Dr. for a unfill tomorrow morning. I am keeping small amounts of solids and liqueds down, but have pain whenever I swallow, massive reflux and heartburn. I was supposed to have 10cc's in my band but they said 4cc's disappeared somewhere along the way. She put 2 1/2 in last Tuesday and couldnt keep Water down so she took 1/2 cc out. Now I think I need another 1/2 out. It is very frustrating.

I am sitting in my drs now waiting for an unfill. I cannot wait. I don't understand what happened to me. Had a fill 2 weeks ago & had a dream week then BAM can't keep anything in comfortably.

I have had 5 fills and now sit at 9.8 cc. Finally have restriction but I cant take anymore fills. I am maxed out. I had surgery June 5th and only down 15 lbs. total since preop. I have been so frustrated and think I have put my body thru this for no reason. I am now down for major back surgery Dec. 18th and have been instructed to NOT exercise due to level of my injury. So frustrated but atleast I have restriction

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
