Not Losing After Moving To Mushies

Recommended Posts

I got moved to mushies a week ago and have not lost anything. Is that normal? I am only getting 700-800 calories a day. I'm not hungry. I eat exactly what they tell me to eat and only one cup of food per meal (lunch and supper) Breakfast is usually one egg. Any ideas?

Give your body a chance to adjust to the new foods. Drink your Water, get in some walking and the weight will come off. Remember slow and steady wins the race.

How's your veggie intake? Lots of bean/ cheese mushies can slow you down. Mush some spinach or zucchini and add it to some mushed chicken with a little broth. Keep things moving with your intestines too.

Remember that wl is mathematical. Cal in- cal burn= wl.

It is not possible to eat 800 cal high qual foods and remain obese. Just be patient!

You are normal. And the advice offered above is good. Hang in there, keep following your dr's guidelines and you will enjoy success.

Minime I asked if I could have some veggies and they said not yet but I can have Beans and potatoes... Makes no sense. I wish I could have some zucchini that was one I asked about specifically. All the mushies they told me are high protien items like beans, cheese, Peanut Butter, yogurt etc but no veggies. :(

Well then, don't worry about weight loss. That will come later.

I actually gained a few pounds when I went to mushies so I wouldn't worry about it. After about a week or so I started losing again. Hang in there!

You are still in your healing stage, so just stick to your Drs orders and things will kick in. The first 6wks are for healing, not so much weight loss. Try not to compare yourself with others, you're on your own journey.

Things will kick in,if you follow your instructions, I promise!

Maddib76 that is really strange because on the diet I got from my surgeon, I am not allowed Beans, potatoes, rice, bread or potatoes BUT I am allowed over cooked vegetables. I'm wondering why your doctor said no vegetables.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
