C-Section

Just wondering...how does lap band compare with having a cesarean section? I've had three C-sections, appendix out, and a total hip replacement. No stranger to the operating room!

Not as bad as c-section because you can use your legs to help get up with out any pulling like there is with c section .. You will be sore from the surgery but the worse part for me was the gas pains after .. But as long as you get up and move you work them out ... Good luck!

well... I've never had a c-section but I'm guessing totally different if they are able to do it laporscopic.

I had 5 very small incisions. I can't compare it to anyother surgery because it is the only surgery I had. 4 of my incisions were 1" or smaller and one was about 2" (where the port is).

Not as bad as a c-section but more post surgery pain. They keep u pretty well drugged after the c-section but not with lapband. Enough to be comfortable but def still feel it. Did not feel able to function with no pain for three weeks after lapband

Thanks! jmb, I didn't think of having the use of my legs. Good point. I'm a bit worried about the after pain. My husband is not supportive so I can't be complaining at all. I'm taking every tip I've read here to minimize it. So, so grateful to have this wonderful site! I have a feeling I'll be checking in quite often.
