I Think I Am Too Tight

Recommended Posts

Im with you' date=' girl! I had my 2nd fill a couple weeks ago and it is MILES different from the 1st. I can barely eat anything solid without it getting stuck. I've been on the Soup diet. I am getting discouraged and am thinking about a small unfill. Its been hell. I'm sick right now so coughing a lot and have thrown up 3 times. NOT COOL! Hope you get it figured out. Best of luck. Write back with what you end up doing.[/quote']

How do you know when it gets stuck????!?!!!!!

Oh you will know! because you will most likely have to bring it up! Or if you eat too much at once it will be painful going down through the band. You learn quick. The hardest part has been waiting and going slow. food gets cold. I hate that...Im still learning and adjusting...I used to think I 'll never throw up..Ive thrown up many times in the last week.

I thought I was stuck once when I had an upset stomach after eating bread but I soon realized what getting stuck actually Meant. Its when your food gets stuck in your esophogus and will not go down and wants to come back up. It makes your chest feel so constricted you feel like you can't breath. Sometimes burping will help loosen the pressure but that's if you can get one out... usually you just need to vomit. Its probably the worst most uncomfortable feeling yet sometimes is almost unavoidable.

I feel like I am getting better but it is definitely going to take more than 1 week to get this figured out. I have lost 2 lbs this week which is significant since I had not lost any weight since my last fill Oct. 4th. Soooo even with all of the pain and frustrations I do think I have reached the green zone I just think it happened much quicker than I was prepared for. I feel as though I am having to retain every eating habit I have!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
