PattyGirl66 1,243 Posted December 1, 2012 Hi Krystle, hair loss after surgery is very common. Numerous things affect Hair loss like anesthesia, weight loss, it shocks the body. Some of us don't even experience hair loss until later down the road (that is whats happening to me) now. My hair is falling out too a lot! There is medically nothing you can do about it. You can take biotion supplments daily.Make sure you are drinking plenty of Water and taking a Multivitamin. Remember this is temporary.......
hely88 883 Posted December 1, 2012 I have heard a lot recently about Hair loss. I didnt have it from the surgery but I do have it from medicaation I have been on. Some of the people I have talked to said their hair did regrow back. Hope so for everyone dealing with it.
vlp1968 83 Posted December 1, 2012 I went to the dermatologist when I starting loosing lots of hair 4-5 months post-op. He said it was from the shock to the body from rapid weight loss. He assured me I wouldn't go bald. It stopped a few months later and my hair grew back. Try not to worry, seems to happen a lot.
LizAndrews 18 Posted December 1, 2012 What about extra sensitive skin? I went to the waxed yesterday, and whoa! I was way more sensitive then normal... The only thing different is the surgery. What do y'all think?
hely88 883 Posted December 1, 2012 Maybe your skin is really dry.
jg9956 41 Posted December 1, 2012 I'm knocking on wood right now...but my hair has never been healthier! I used to lose so much in the shower before surgery and now it's very minimal. I'm excited that it's the opposite from what I was expecting. I think for once I'm treating my body well and it's responding well. Obviously what I was doing before was depriving myself of what my body needed. A friend of mine experienced Hair loss and it grew back in time. Hang in there, I'm sure that can be frustrating. I hear that Biotin is a good supplement for that. It wouldn't hurt to try I dont think? And maybe not wearing a ball cap or tight hairbands for awhile as to not pull on it anymore than necessary? (if you do) I wish you the best of luck
