I am exhausted and keep reading about people that feel great and lots of energy, also I think I may be feeling a bit blue due to the mental changes I am accomodating to, and want t.. Will I eventually feel better, I am trying to do the 60 ounces of Liquid Protein recommended by my surgeon. Thanks for any assistance, this forum is wonderful!!

Your body is still healing & getting adjusted to the new you. Remember after any surgery the Anesthesia lingers in your body for days. Just follow your Doctors orders & get your rest. Don't push it, give your body time to adjust. Congrats to you. #Banded12/22/10

Yes you will feel better i promise. Once you start eating more solid food you will get more energy. I was exhauseted for 2 weeks while i was on liquids and no lie..i cried everyday until i started my soft foods..lol. Its life changing so its normal to feel a little depressed but i promise you, you will feel better soon.

You just had major surgery. It takes 6wks to heal completely. I remember feeling so great, going out running errands and then feel like hitting a brick wall, totally exhausted.Nap time! LOL

Try not to compare yourself to anyone else. We are all individuals and will experience things at our own pace, be it healing or weight loss. I'm older so I know younger ppl will heal faster.

Congratulations & Best Wishes!

I did too...for a while i thought i was crazy and really questioned what i had done. I was not happy! I kind of think maybe it was a lack of proper nutrients that may have gotten my hormones out of wack..lol. I still get tired sometimes but im only 4 weeks post op but i feel 100% better than i did the first 2 weeks

Its a very normal feeling. Our bodies after lapband surgery need to heal anywhere between 4-6 weeks, some even longer so don't be alarmed if you are feeling this way even after the 6th week. You will feel like yourself soon, just remember to follow your surgeons instructions on doing so, keeping hydrated is key. Plus don't forget Protein and a Multivitamin

I am so glad you said this. I went for a walk before and had a mini breakdown wondering what the hell I did to myself. Here I am walking, not for exercise but to make this awful gas go away. And I am craving something greasy and cheesy. But I snapped back out of it because I know so many people on here went through it, too and they are so successful.

So much changes when you have Wls. We are not used to taking care of ourselves first. Listen to your body and do what it says you can do! I didn't start exercising until one week ago even though I saw everyone on here just going for it. I did feel bad but I was just too tired!

I'm almost two months post op now. I feel better but I still just listen to my body.

I had surgery on 11/16 and yesterday was the first day that I felt like myself again. It was 2 weeks to the day from my surgery. The first week or so, I was totally wiped out. Heal and rest...you'll feel back to normal soon!

Add more liquid Protein as you are able and that will help boost you up a bit. That said, anesthesia takes a while to get out of your system. I have hot and cold flashes for 6 weeks. And no, I am not menopausal. Been there done that!

Heidi we sound like two peas in a pod. After my surgery I had zero energy. I would fold a few clothes and feel like I ran a marathon. I was exhausted all the time. After about a week it started to get better. I also experienced seem depression. food was my best friend and now I had lost it. When I was stressed or sad I didn't have food to run to. I mourned the loss as my husband would say. It was really great having a go to person. My husband was so great taking care of the kids and housework for me. But now I am 5 weeks and two days post surgery and I feel great. I have way more energy now, and I am o longer depressed. I know that in moderation at some point I will still be ale to have the things I want. I tried Chinese food today and for the first time I puked. It wasnt fun. I forgot to chew chew chew, because I let my self get so hungry. So when you do start to eat make sure you chew chew chew. Think positive as it does get better. I started to feel normal after week two. Good luck.

Hey! I totally forgot about that. Try some Gatorade zero cal or coconut Water if you can handle the taste. Both quick fix for that!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
