taraepperson 18 Posted December 1, 2012 I was banded 4.5 months ago and am down 45 lbs. my port hurt when I first had the surgery. It hurts less but the pain is still there. My Dr said he could move it to the other side and it may help. Happened to anyone else? If so, did you lose more weight?
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted December 1, 2012 If it were me i would wait until I lost all my weight and then do a port revision or the dr can also put in a low profile port when you have met your goal Unless of course the pain is intolerable.... Which of course you would want to fix it sooner
taray 0 Posted February 4, 2014 I've had a tearing feeling at my port site. Last time they tried to fill they gave me three numbing shots and couldn't get the needle in to fill it. I said enough after 15 mins. Been afraid to go back. Is this the feeling your having?

I said enough after 15 mins. Been afraid to go back. Is this the feeling your having? Are you sure your port didn't flip? Sounds exactly like what happened to me. The doctor gave up on filling it after I screamed in pain. He poked and prodded a little bit and scheduled me for day surgery. I had to go under anesthesia but it was a quick fix.i have not had a problem since he fixed the flipped port. Good luck to you.
taray 0 Posted February 5, 2014 Oh wow! A flipped port? None of the doctors mentioned anything like that. It's been three years. It's not filled. As I was having a lot of issues with food getting stuck. Even now without it filled I do also. I will mention this when I get the courage up to go in. Will an ultra sound help diagnose this? Thank you so much!!! God bless you.
dawalsh 919 Posted February 5, 2014 An ultrasound might be able to diagnose that but my surgeon was able to poke and prod a little and was able to figure it out. When he did it he unfilled me and he's been gradually filling me since May 10th. He is very conservative so I'm not totally in the green zone but I'm getting there. I hope they can help you out soon. Good luck!
