Come February, I will have had my band for 3 years. Over that time, I have lost 125 lbs. However, over the last three weeks, I have been miserable. I can't eat ANYTHING and I can hardly drink anything either. I know I am dehydrated because I have lots of thick mucus all the time. I can't get an appointment until Dec 7th to have some of my fill taken out. I don't know what to do in the meantime. Any suggestions?

Hmm.. that sounds like something pretty serious.. especially if you can't really drink anything also.. I'd call my surgeons office and let them know how serious you feel this is.. and that you cannot wait until Dec 7th. thats crazy..

hope you feel better soon! :\ and grats on such an amazing weight loss.. I would be 10lbs shy of my goal when I get there.. exciting. :)

I agree with Destynee. Call the doc and explain the situation tomorrow. A quick visit to your doctor is much cheaper than a visit to the ER.

Definitely, you need to let your doctor's office know this cannot wait. If you are not able to do liquids or sufficient amounts of liquids and no food you are jeopardizing your health, big time. If you are able to get liquids down, I would still call them back and express it urgent. In the meanwhile, I would stick to sipping Protein Drinks and avoid food so you don't irritate it worse. It sounds like the band may have slipped which requires immediate attention. Please, please call them back or go to ER.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
